Raising the Stakes Workshop with Rebecca Drake

When: Saturday, April 1, 2017
Where: Panera Bread, Fox Chapel, 12pm

Rebecca Drake will present a writing workshop that focuses on the importance of adding the element of stakes to the plot of a novel.

Reading Salon

When: Saturday June 17, 6:30-9:00pm
Where: City of Asylum, 40 W. North Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15212

Gather to hear chapter members read aloud from works, answer questions and celebrate the 30th anniversary of Sisters in Crime! Light refreshments will be served. This event is open to the public and we invite mystery fans to join us.

Carnegie Museum Writers’ Tour: Story, Technique, and Character

When: Saturday, July 15, 11:30am start
Where: Carnegie Museum of Art
Cost: $15

Join us for a guided tour of the Carnegie, where we will study various pieces for their technique and affect on the viewer. The tour will be followed by a short period of free-writing. Lunch at the museum cafe will precede the tour (the cost of lunch is separate from the event fee and each attendee is responsible for his/her own meal).
